The Administration would like to hear your thoughts on the future of the Larocque Park in Alfred. This public consultation will help us better understand your preferences regarding the activities offered at the park, particularly during the summer season.
What is currently offered in this park :
- Skating rink (on asphalt)
- Children's play structures
- Softball field
- Pétanque court
- Covered rest area
- Tennis court
- Outdoor Pool
- Library
What needs to be replaced :
The skating rink boards and asphalt need to be replaced due to the current condition. This will allow winter activities to carry on such as hockey and skating. For summer, it is proposed that a plastic multisport surface be installed on the asphalt.
Proposed project:
- New boards for a 124' by 52' playing area
- New, leveled asphalt
- Addition of multisport surface tiles over the asphalt, which is better for watering in the winter and marking the playing area in the summer.
- The suface would include:
- dekhockey lines
- Basketball lines and hoops
Advantage: allows the public to play 2 different sports in this area.
Disadvantage: The surface would be smaller than the one that is currently at this location. However this new layout will be ideal for dekhockey lovers, and will facilitate watering during winter months.
Please take a moment to complete the survey and let us know your thoughts. This public consultation will be opened until May 31st.
