Community Events Grants

This grant is intended to support events and activities in the Township. 

The allocated amounts will be discussed with the municipal council during the budget meetings.

Grant Amount

• The amount requested may not exceed 25% of the total event budget and is capped at $10,000. 
• An additional in-kind contribution with a maximum value of $5,000 may also be provided.

Eligibility

• Only a community group is eligible for funding.
• A community group may submit only one grant application per year.
• The proposed event must take place within the territory of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, be open to the public, inclusive of all, and align with the mission, vision and corporate values of the municipality.
• Only the following categories of events are eligible for funding :
  • Arts, culture and heritage
  • Community Event
  • Special Events
  • Tourism and economic development

Application Assessment

Applications will be reviewed and evaluated according to the following criteria:

• 30% Organizational capacity of the recipient (previous experience, organizational structure, logistics plan, number of volunteers)
• 30%: Expected number of participants, quality of programming, community engagement, partnerships, visibility of the Townships, and the event's ability to attract visitors from outside the municipality. 
• 30%: Financial capacity of the recipient (realistic budget, requested amount does not exceed the 25% funding threshold, and diversified funding sources)
• 10% : Anticipated economic and tourism impacts, increased traffic for local businesses, promotion of the Township, and contribution to local economic development.
