The Administration would like to hear your thoughts on the future of Lefaivre Park. This public consultation will help us better understand your preferences regarding the activities offered at the park, particularly during the summer season.
What is currently offered in this park :
- Skating rink (on asphalt)
- Children's play structures
- Softball field
- Pétanque court
- Covered rest area

What needs to be replaced :
The skating rink boards and asphalt need to be replaced due to the current condition. This will allow winter activities to carry on such as hockey and skating. For summer, it is proposed that a plastic multisport surface be installed on the asphalt to accomodate pickleball, dekhockey and basketball.
Option 1 - Three sports in one place
- New boards for a 124' by 52' playing area
- New, leveled asphalt
- Addition of multisport surface tiles over the asphalt, which is better for watering in the winter and marking the playing area in the summer.
- The suface would include:
- dekhockey lines
- Basketball lines and hoops
- Lines for 2 pickleball courts
Advantage: allows the public to play 3 different sports in this area.
Disadvantage: pickleball players would need to bring their own nets to play.
Option 2 - Two sports in one place
- New boards for a 124' by 52' playing area
- New, leveled asphalt
- Addition of multisport surface tiles over the asphalt, which is better for watering in the winter and marking the playing area in the summer.
- The suface would include:
- Basketball lines and hoops
- Lines for 2 pickleball courts with one permanent net on the south side and one temporary net on the north side.
Advantage: allows the public to play 2 different sports in this area. The pickleball court would be accessible to all public at all time.
Disadvantage: Dekhockey wouldn't be offered in this park, however the Township is planning on developing a dekhockey surface in Alfred.
Please take a moment to complete the survey and let us know your thoughts. This public consultation will be opened until May 31st.
